What was life like before the phone ?
Life was difficult due to there being no telephone only way to communicate with people was through letter usually wouldn't get a response til days later or telegram but it was too expensive for some people mainly the government used it or people would have to leave their house and randomly run into each other peoples info also had to come from books and newspapers also people had to rely on others memories and travel patterns if you friend lived down the street you would have to leave go to their house ask if they were there and if not head back home some people used carrier pigeons but this probably wasn't the best way what happens if they got injured or distracted on their journey they were used during both world wars sometimes people used horseback messengers it would be quicker than the postal service but more expensive
This is how you used an antique phone in 1870
Bells invention was a vertical metal cone with a piece of parchment stretched on the outside of it he had glued on a needle pointing into a cup of diluted sulphuric acid so when he spoke into the cone his voice made a parchment vibration in the same time the needle slightly moved kind of stirring the cup the needle was also hooked up to a battery the strength of that determined how loud you could hear the person on the other end which creates sound waves into a traveling wire receiver to another phone while bell was setting up the experiment he spilled some acid on his trousers shouting to his assistant through the cone he picked it off the receiver and rushed to help bell but accomplishing the first ever phone call.
Over some decades ago the phone has become smaller and smaller but now is beginning to get bigger and bigger guess history does repeat itself the telephone went being a giant piece of artwork to a very small handheld computer who woulda known that the computer runs in our iphones are better than the one that the astronauts had during apollo 18 also we can talk to people overseas which couldn't really happen before unless you felt like waiting months to hear back the cost of using it has come down since back then it was more expensive than it is now number were also much larger than so companies had them cut down to remember more easily pretty sure you could watch television on those rotary phones its become so much bigger than just a phone for some people thats their life .
Life without the phone?
Honestly if people didn't have phones now most would be complete idiots lets be honest how many people pick up the newspaper and actually read what's going on in the world no one would know if there wasnt social media is their news its sad cause no is picking up books anymore everything is digital where you can just download it most the time its like watching a group of zombies that just stare down at their phones all day a lot of people even myself wouldn't be able to keep up with most events if it wasn't for my cell or shopping would be a lot more harder for people if they couldn't order it straight off their phone to be dropped off at their front door we couldn't see friends face to face if it wasn't for facetime neither so i guess you can say it has its pros and cons personally couldnt imagine the world without cell phones.

It's crazy because people have phones that are built into glasses and watches now so i really have no idea how much more they can do besides having hologram conversations experts say will be a remote control over our lives nokia is making a phone where the phone can be used at any angle like the backside of it also lets you snapped off some parts of it manually and add on other parts and the gps will be able to morph and clip on to your belt while hiking or driving what ever that means.
